A Bitcoin wallet is a digital tool for securely storing and sending Bitcoin (BTC). It consists of a public address and a private key, and can be recovered using a seed phrase (mnemonic).
Following the BIP39 standard, 12 or 24 seed phrase (mnemonic) words are generated, from which a private key and public address are derived. Make sure to store your seed phrase in a safe location.
Enter your Bitcoin address to check the real-time balance through the blockchain network. Balance checks are free and require no personal information.
If you lose your seed phrase, you will lose access to the Bitcoin stored in your wallet. It is recommended to write down your seed phrase on paper and store it in a safe location.
There are hardware wallets (cold wallets), software wallets (hot wallets), web wallets, and mobile wallets. For storing large amounts, hardware wallets like Ledger and Trezor are recommended.
